Cuttle Scuttle is a computer game for children that is awaiting commercialisation. It has been built in GameMaker Studio, exported to multiple platforms and tested with thousands of primary school-aged children. The game is an arcade-style game that teaches children about marine ecology, including human impacts on the marine environment, visually and through play. The gameplay is cooperative, and concepts of population survival, environmental hazards, pollution and reproduction are introduced to the players. Playing as a team of female cuttlefish, players must find mates, lay eggs and evade predators, traps and toxins in order to advance in the game.
A playable Beta version of the game is available on itch.io . Here are some images of playtesting sessions at various gaming and science events, including AVCON (2018) and Science Alive (2014).
